BVC Logistics’ Mr Rajesh Neelakanta appointed as the board member of Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)

Mumbai, May 2019: Mr Rajesh Neelakanta, Executive Director and CEO of BVC Logistics Pvt. Ltd., domestic logistics arm for precious cargo, has been recently appointed as a board member of The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). RJC is the jewellery industry’s foremost standard setting and certification body which held its first virtual annual general meeting (AGM) this month – appointing a series of new Board members. 
 
Mr Rajesh Neelakanta will represent the service industry forum in the jewellery supply chain, from mine to retail. He will join the current Board members and work closely with the RJC’s Executive Committee and management team as the organisation continues to position its recently launched 2019 Code of Practices and drive continuous improvement in responsible business practices across the jewellery supply chain. 
 
The ecstatic, Mr Rajesh Neelakanta, Executive Director and CEO of BVC Logistics Pvt. Ltd. said, “It is a great honour to be a part of the RJC as a board member. We will aim to increase the RJC membership globally and more specifically from India. We will help bring in the global best practices relevant to the precious cargo industry in India. The focus will be to create a level playing field with regard to building a cohesive business ecosystem where all kinds of industry players participate and more importantly thrive in their respective business areas.” 
 
The Responsible Jewellery Council is a not for profit standards-setting and certification organisation. It has more than 1100 member companies that span the jewellery supply chain from mine to retail. RJC Members commit to and are independently audited against the RJC Code of Practices – an international standard on responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals.
